Jim, Dan and Fred Koch started Koch and Company in 1989 when they purchased their first building, known in the area as the old VFW dance hall. Koch and Company doors and cabinets are proudly made in America, supplying jobs to American workers. Koch and Company plant workers perform a wide variety of jobs, from sanding, finishing and assembly, to packaging and shipping. We recycle all wood waste material by producing wood pellets and provide vans for carpooling to several cities. In his uncle’s small-town-Ohio wood shop, he started with only hand tools and scraps of wood. Building bird houses and other small projects soon grew into a lifelong passion.

After falling in love with the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina while on vacation, Dan and his family left Ohio behind in 1996 and headed for Hendersonville, NC.
