Our Virtual Kitchen Design Consultations take the guesswork and hassle out of creating new Kitchen Cabinets.
The Virtual Design Difference
Not everyone has the time (or ability) to up and leave their house for a design consult. That’s why we’ll bring the consultation directly to your home—in a virtual setting. You’ll be able to speak one-on-one with a BarrWood Cabinets specialist to begin creating the cabinets you always wanted. Best of all, your virtual consultation is FREE!
Exact measurements are crucial in the cabinet-making industry. Even if you’re off by an inch or two, your final product won’t fit. During your consultation, we’ll “walk” with you through the kitchen and direct you on how to take proper measurements. Since we can see everything, we’ll ensure you’re doing it right! With our skillful eyes, you won’t overlook anything.
We’ll enter all your measurements into our computer program. After that, we’ll plug in other important information, such as the color of your walls, type of flooring, and location of appliances. Basically, we’ll create a virtual replication of your kitchen. Then it’s your turn to tell us what you want.
We’ll input all your specifications into the program right away, and you’ll be able to see them on the screen. Don’t like something? No problem. Just let us know, and we can make adjustments on the spot.
View Your Dream Kitchen in a Few Hours
BarrWood Cabinets never takes any shortcuts. That’s why our virtual consultations are approximately four hours long. Our design experts will cover every square inch of your kitchen! But what do you get out of it in the end?
After your consult, you’ll receive a 3-D rendering of your cabinets, along with pricing specifics. If you like what you see, we’ll sell the design to you for a low price—consider us your affordable interior designer. Once you have the design, you can order your cabinets for a DIY kitchen. Don’t want to install cabinets on your own? No problem. We can even forward everything to your contractor of choice.

8 Important Questions to Ask When Buying New Kitchen Cabinets
Ready to buy new kitchen cabinets? Here are the answers to your most burning questions.
Buying new kitchen cabinets doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. Educating yourself about the different options available will ensure you pick out the perfect design for your home. At BarrWood Cabinets, we want you to enjoy the experience. Here are the top questions our customers frequently ask:
FAQ: You Know These Questions Were on Your Mind
We hear this question all the time (in many forms), and the answer is always the same: It depends. The price for cabinets varies depending on what you want, your budget, and the layout of your room. Although we could toss some numbers in your direction, we still don’t know what you envision for your kitchen.
Customers often want a price-per-foot quote, but we need to know more. Do you want to add any extras? What is the size of your kitchen and the ceiling height? Without this information, you’ll only get an answer for a baseline cabinet. Even with that, an inexpensive 36" base cabinet might cost $75, but our more expensive design can reach $1,500 or more. That’s a huge difference!
Asking for a price is a loaded question. That’s why we request that our customers fill out a detailed questionnaire beforehand. We want to know specifics about your preferred door style, finish, and size. Remember, nothing in your kitchen is “standard,” and the more information you give us, the better we can help you arrive at a budget.
Waiting for new cabinets may feel like an eternity, but keep in mind: good things come to those who wait. Your delivery time could be anywhere from three days for budget friendly cabinets to eight weeks for custom-built. On average, expect three to four weeks for your cabinets to arrive. More intricate projects take longer to prepare and install.
Unless you want to flip or sell your home any time soon, the answer to this question really doesn’t matter. You should buy whatever you like, not what your neighbors like. Instead, ask detailed questions about the cabinets to figure out what’s best. How are the doors made? What materials do you use? How do you apply the finish? These questions will ensure you buy cabinets that suit your needs.
Cherry, maple, oak, and hickory are all great wood choices. Furniture board is also popular. Each type of wood has different characteristics, and the various finishes perform differently. Do you want to paint your cabinets or stain them? Are you looking for a rustic kitchen with knotty wood or something with a smoother grain? With this information, we help narrow down your wood selection.
There are hundreds of options available to homeowners. You can purchase cabinets with drawer dividers, pull-out shelves, door storage, mixer lifts, waste containers, and a ton more. Before you buy all the gizmos you see online, consider how you actually use your kitchen since every add-on will increase the budget.
SAQ: The Questions You Didn’t Realize You Should Ask
This answer may surprise you, but facing will only save you money if you do the job yourself and just want to paint the cabinets. Otherwise, it may be more affordable to go ahead and replace the cabinets. After refacing, you’ll still have the same old cabinets and layout. Some contractors won’t even refinish the interior. It’s best to get what you really want right now instead of changing your mind in a year.
Warranties vary from company to company. Some custom guys won’t provide you with a written warranty, just their word. If they leave or die, you’re out of luck. You need to know is who is standing behind the warranty AND everything it covers. Most warranties don’t cover water damage, and certain chemicals or substances may void it. Always ask for a written warranty, and read all the fine print.
